If you were thinking of taking a trip to Western Mass...
Beehive Design Collective is Coming!

I strongly suggest you check out them out. They are coming to UMass this Friday from 2:30-5:30 pm. They will be in the campus center room 174 (which is connected to other rooms, you will see it).

These people are artists that design politically-minded posters, mainly around issues of biojustice, environmentalism, and neat stuff like that! They are inspired by Latin American art movements, like the muralist movement, and put on a great workshop.
http://www.beehivecollective.org/ is their website. Even if you don't end up going, check it out. If you like art you will definitely appreciate this.

This is open to anyone and everyone interested, tell your friends...

The Radical Student Union has worked ever since the summer trying to get them to come, this will be spectacular!
Thanks folks!

the way i see it, the only way we can have the kind of world we want, we have to live life the way we think it should be. we will never have a revolution here in the united states because Americans are too secure in their malls and their clothes and their coffee. so the only way we can make this world and this country a better place is by being, and by helping those around us to be healthier, freer, more aware. anarchism, i believe does not work on a large scale. however, if we all live life how we believe it should be lived and we help others and we build a strong community, through education, community building, we can be a powerful force for change. look at the black panthers. they didn't just have guns and stuff. they had breakfast programs, they helped people. that's what the anarchist movement should be doing. i admit it, many anarchist types are priveliged white youth. i am my self a middle class white kid from the 'burbs. but we can use that privilige. we also need to link with lower income folks. as a group, UUism is largely white. at the last conference i was at (last week) it was literally all white. anarchists and UUs alike face that problem. we both need to build a strong community, link with lower income people if there is any chance of ever being a serious force for change.

ooh, when you announce your self, if you feel comfortable, you should all announce what district you are from if you take part in YRUU.

by the way i am "freenoahnow". just chenged my name. i am from Mass Bay District.

hey everyone (meaning how many people? uncertain)...
I am completely willing to get this up and running, I liked the idea of a forum-type situation, but I think the name anarchist is percieved by some as being pretentious/violent.
But frankly, that's isn't what anarchism is about. Anarchy is commonly misunderstood. It's the belief that a centralized/hierarchal (yeah spelling) form of government is oppressive, and not the best.

agreed?
